On this page you are able to view screenshots of the different parts of gnutvis. Click on an image to see a larger version.
When the application is launched, the user is presented with the welcome
screen. This allows them to connect/disconnection to the network or change
their settings. They can
also view some statistics about the Gnutella network such as the number/file
size of the files being shared. Navigation is through the use of the 'Quick
Navigation' menu which shows related statistics, or by using the tabs
at the top of the application window.
This tab allows the user to view line charts of the number of Hosts online
on a certain date. The data can be viewed by different groups:
- Hosts online in the hours of the current day.
- Hosts online in the days of the selected month.
- Hosts online in each month of the year.
The charts will update dynamically, allowing a real time view of the numbers online.
This tab allows the user to view bar charts of the number of files shared
by Gnutella
Hosts. The data can be viewed according to country in order to see which
countries share the most files, and those that share the least. The data
can also be viewed by connection speed, to see if users with faster speeds
share more files.
Here the user can view a world map of Gnutella Hosts that have been online
in the past few minutes. As well as showing the number online from various
countries, it also shows data for .edu and .net domains.
The data is updated every few seconds to provide a dynamic and up to date view.
This tab also contains textual information about the number of Hosts that are freeriding (sharing no files) and the number that are classed as Ultrapeers.

This displays a sample of the searches currently being conducted on the network. They gradually fill up the screen until it is cleared and the process starts again.
Here the user can view which are the most frequently occuring searches. First of all, they can view the most popular searches from the last 5 minutes.
Secondly they can view the most searched for file types. This data is
collected and
stored
persistently, giving a more representative view the longer the data is
collected for. The user can easily see the date since the data has been
collected, and can also clear the data if they wish to reset the counts.
