About Forrest Hills
Situated in 200 acres of countryside on the edge of the Forrest of Bowland we are
just 5 minutes from the M6 junction 33.
Originally a working farm, Forrest Hills has diversified into providing conference
and leisure facilities to visitors. To combat the problems of farming decline, we
offer a days golfing, fishing or quad biking.
Only when the last
tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will
we realise that money cannot be eaten. With the introduction of DEFRA's Environmental
Stewardship scheme, we at Forrest Hills are now directing our efforts towards providing
effective environmental management on our land.
We aim to maintain and enhance the areas of land we own in order to provide habitats
for a range of plants and animals, in turn increasing the biodiversity of the area.
Entitlements
Forrest Hills holds a number of 'entitlements' or areas of land that may be rented
or sold to other parties. These areas can then be developed by the third party in
accordance with the Environmental Stewardship guidelines in return for payments
from the Government.
