In case you hadn't already guessed, my name is Duncan Halley. I'm a freelance web designer and developer, working mainly in the Manchester and North West area, although I've developed websites for companies worldwide.I hold a Degree in Computer Science and I'm constantly updating my skills to ensure I remain at the forefront of the web design industry. I specialise in clean, user friendly and standards compliant sites and because the Internet should be available for everyone, I ensure my websites are accessible.

July 2007 - Delta Legal Completed while freelancing for web agency Moonfish Ltd. Its layout uses CSS and the site incorporates ASP.NET and AJAX.

December 2006 - Heywood House Hotel - A project for the Lancaster University Volunteer Unit, this website was designed for a small, family-run hotel in Blackpool. The owners only wanted a very simple site that would encourage customers to get in contact via phone. It seems this website has now been stolen by the evil 'UFindUs' company and they've totally wrecked it. What was once a really beautiful website has now been destroyed - however, you can view my portfolio to see the design I created.
August 2006 - Slicksticks.com e-commerce site selling vinyl wall decals, based in the USA.

2005-2006 - gnutVis Design and programming of a Java program to monitor and visualise the Gnutella filesharing network.
- Use of a wide variety of technologies including Java, Java Web Start, db4o, JTella
- Software engineering practices - requirements engineering, UML, user evaluation and testing
- Allow users to view the current state of the Gnutella network, using real time graphs, statistics and maps.
- Allows trends in the network to be spotted, by collecting data over a period of time, and computing this into historical data.
